Japan Stomps Australia in Exhibition

Japan won their second exhibition game over Australia with a 10-3 shellacking.  Kazuo Matsui had a big 3-run triple in the fourth inning to give the Japanese the lead for good.  He ended up driving in four runs for the game.  Seiichi Uchikawa slapped three singles to drive in three runs.  Kenta Maeda got the start and worked three innings, giving up the only homerun in the game to Luke Hughes to drive in all three runs.  The reports are his velocity was back to normal.

The only offense generated by Australia was a 3-run homer by Luke Hughes in the third inning giving them a brief 3-2 lead.  The 3-run triple from Matsui in the top of the fourth ended the brief lead.  Australia committed four errors in the game to allow five unearned runs to cross the plate.
