Taiwan CPBL Drawing Record Crowds

The opening weekend of the CPBL has seen record crowds, with 41,559 showing up for three games.  This surpassed the previous high of 39,044 which was accomplished in 1992.  An average crowd of only 2,433 fans showed up for games last year, compared to an average attendance of 6,878 in 1992 until gambling scandals soured fans on the league.
