Freddy Garcia Finds Work in Taiwan; Mejia Goes to Japan

Freddy Garcia was recently released by the Atlanta Braves.  He has now found work in Taiwan, signing with the EDA Rhinos.

One of myworld’s favorite players, Ernesto Mejia was recently released by the Braves despite hitting .354 with seven homeruns in 20 games for AAA.  He was released by the Braves so he could sign a contract with the Seibu Lions in Japan.  Myworld has wondered on this blog why an Asian team had yet to discover Mejia.  At 28 years old he had no future with the Braves as a first baseman, as long as Freddie Freeman was healthy in front of him.
