France 5 Belgium 4

France had to rally for two runs in the ninth to avoid the upset by Belgium. Felix Brown drove a two run homer to left field to win it in walk off fashion. Belgium had rallied from a 3-0 deficit to take a 4-3 lead in the later innings. Benjamin Dill smoked a 2-run double in the seventh to tie the game and Steven Delannoy plunked an RBI single in the eighth to put Belgium up 4-3. Owen Ozanich was set up for a victory for France after throwing five innings of shutout ball, but his bullpen could not hold the lead. Brown drove in four of the five runs for France.

Italy 13 Great Britain 1

Italy remained without a loss as they overmatched Great Britain. Alex Liddi powered three balls over the fence to drive in four of the runs. He went 3 for 3 with one walk. Mattia Regginato smoked three doubles in his four at bats for Italy. Four different pitchers were used by Italy to limit Great Britain to one run.

Germany 12 Sweden 8

Germany capitalized on six Swedish errors to score seven unearned runs to keep the Swedes winless. The Swedish pitchers also walked eight German hitters. Max Boldt and Kevin Kotowski led the German assault with three hits each.

Ostrava, Czech Republic

Greece 10 Croatia 0

Greece pulls out their first win, Panagiotis Sykaras throwing a complete game seven inning shutout. He struck out 13 Croation hitters without allowing a walk, scattering seven hits. Christ Christopoulos went deep and walked twice, crossing the plate four times in the win.

Spain 9 Czech Republic 2

Spain continued with their power bats with Oscar Angulo going deep twice to give him four for the tournament. He drove in four runs. Jesus Golindano also went deep to match the homerun output for Angulo. Daniel Martinez drove in three runs from the leadoff spot with a two run double and ground out. Spain scored five in the sixth to pull away from the game.

Netherlands 12 Russia 1

Nick Urbanus drove in four runs with a homerun and Curt Smith scored four times with two homeruns to lead the rout. Urbanus, Smith and Kalian Sams combined to drive in nine of the 12 Netherlands runs.
