Mariners Scott Arrested in Australia

It would be a dream of every ball player to get an opportunity to play baseball in Australia and get paid for it. That dream is turning into a nightmare for the Mariners Troy Scott. He let his emotions get the best of him in a brawl, punching the ABL homerun leader Kellin Deglan hard enough to create facial injuries requiring dental work. The assault led to his arrest, suspension and a fine.

The Adelaide Bite qualified for the championship this year but Scott will not be participating in those games. The six game suspension of Scott is the most severe in ABL history and will cause him to miss the playoffs. He is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.
