Perth Advances to Finals; Give Blue Sox the Boot

The Perth Heat advanced to the finals by sweeping the Sydney Blue Sox in two games in a best of three semi-finals. The last game was not very competitive with the Heat melting the Blue Sox chances of advancing with a 9-2 thrashing. Tim Kennelly and Rene Tosoni each drove in two runs, Tosoni finishing the day with three hits. Warwick Saupold did not pitch five innings, though he held the Blue Sox scoreless. He threw 97 pitches, walking four and striking out seven in his outing. The win went to Scott Mitchinson, who pitched less than two innings but gave up both Blue Sox runs.

The Heat will now play the Adelaide Bite for the championship.
