Norge Ruiz Leaves Cuba

The best pitching prospect in Cuba has left the country to play major league baseball. At 21 years old he is going to be subject to the spending limits. Myworld saw him pitch at the Series del Caribe. He is a small pitcher that is not overpowering. He reminds me a bit of Yunesky Maya, who did not have a lot of success with the Nationals. Righthanders who stand less than six foot do not have a lot of success in the major leagues as starters, but sometimes have success in the bullpen. There are always exceptions. Ruiz got hit pretty good at the Series del Caribe, but still wiggled out of a lot of jams.
