Cuban Versus Tampa Bay Lineup

President Obama is only the second President to have stepped foot on Cuban soil. The first was Calvin Coolidge in 1928 to give a speech at the 6th Pan American Conference. It is ironic that Cuba was the only country Coolidge visited in his six years as President. There were three Presidents who visited Guantanamo Bay (William Taft in 1911, Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1939 and 1940, and Harry Truman) but that is still a territory of the United States, an issue that still rankles many native Cubans. Myworld wonders if the President will spend the 75 or so cents it takes to enter the ball park or if the Cubans will let him watch free as a dignitary. It is the first time a major league team has played in Cuba since 1999 when the Orioles came to visit. Let’s hope these players put more effort into the game than Albert Belle.
