Heat One Win Away

The Heat won their second straight game against the Aces, winning 9-4.  Mychal Givens led off the bottom of the first inning with a triple, eventually scoring on a wild pitch to get the offense started for the Heat.  Perth strung together three singles, a double and a walk to score three aditional runs to jump out to an early 4-1 lead after one inning.  The Heat extended the lead to 7-1 with three runs in the fourth.  Virgil Vazquez was one out short of completing eight innings, giving up four runs.  Benn Grice picked up the save, getting the last out in the eighth after hitting a batter and giving up a single to load the bases.  He retired the side in order in the ninth to pick up the save.

The other playoff game between Sydney and Adelaide was postponed because of thunderstorms.  That series is even at a game apiece.
