Fighters Win Japan Series

With their 10-4 win the Nippon Ham Fighters won their fourth straight game to secure a Japan Series win four games to two. A six run eighth inning in which Brandon Laird hit a grand slam homerun broke a 4-4 tie to put the game out of reach. For Laird it was his third homerun of this series.

Haruki Nishikawa stroked three hits in the game, two of them triples to score twice and drive in two runs. Jay Jackson was the losing pitcher for the Carp giving up all six runs in the eighth. For Jackson it was his second loss of the series. He appeared in all six games.

Brandon Laird was voted the MVP of the series.
