Gators Win Opener

The Florida Gators are one win away from their first championship after their 4-3 opening day win. Florida took advantage of three walks to load the bases in the fourth, then got a sacrifice fly from Austin Langworthy and a two run double from Jonathan India to jump out to an early 3-0 lead. Brady Singer worked seven innings to keep the lead before yielding to Michael Byrne in the eighth after giving up a lead off double. Byrne gave up an RBI single to Josh Smith but then retired the last four hitters to earn his third save of the College World Series. Singer struck out 12 Tigers in his seven innings of work.
