Bernadina Hits for Cycle

Roger Bernadina has had a good first season in the KBO. He has led the Kia Tigers to their current first place standing, initially hitting leadoff but currently hitting normally in the three spot. He is currently hitting .322 with 20 homers and 76 RBIs. His 21 stolen already make him a 20/20 player.

On Thursday he did something only two other foreign players have accomplished in the KBO, hit for the cycle. Manny Martinez was the first who did it in 2001 while playing for the Samsung Lions. Eric Thames, who is now finding success with the Milwaukee Brewers, hit for the cycle twice in 2015 for the NC Dinos. Now you can add Bernadina to that list.

His first hit was for a triple, the back end of back to back triples that gave the Kia Tigers a 1-0 lead. A sacrifice fly drove him in to make it 2-0. In the third inning he turned a single into a two out hustle double but was left stranded at third base. His one out single in the fifth again left him stranded at third. He led off the eighth with a lead off homerun, the last of the Tiger scoring in a 9-3 win.
