The Dutch Playoffs
We don’t mean to ignore the European baseball playoffs, but there are so many of them and myworld’s understanding of them is limited. It is like trying to figure out the $700 billion bailout. There wasn’t a mad rush to bail out homeowners when their homes were being forclosed, but as soon as the banks started shutting down and CEOs with their 9 figure salaries were being threatened with unemployment that talks of a bailout became necessary.
You can go to http://www.mister-baseball.com/semifinals-dutch-hoofdklasse-playoffs-weekend/ to update yourself on the myriad number of playoff games that are occurring. The Europeans treat baseball a little bit like soccer, creating Divisions based on skill and teams moving up a division or down a divison based on their standing when a season ends. They even have a top 50 of the top baseball teams in Europe.
The Dutch Hoofdklasse playoffs may feature a final between the first ranked European team, Coredon Kinheim and the third ranked team, Door Neptunus. Kinheim is the 2007 defending champions. Both teams are up 2-1 in their playoff games with Konica Minolta Pioneers and L & D Amsterdam Pirates. Myworld will report on the championship event, just because we can. Or at least, we hope we can.
