Vanderbilt Wins College World Series

Michigan was the talk of Omaha. They were the Cinderella team that had eliminated number one UCLA in the Super Regionals. Now they had to beat the equally strong Vanderbilt. They won the first, but they could not finish it. Vanderbilt won the final two, taking it to Michigan in the final game 8-2.

The game started off well for Michigan early, scoring in the first to take an early 1-0 lead. A Pat DeMarco solo shot in the second tied the game. After that Vanderbilt piled it on, rallying for three runs in the third after two were out. Michigan helped them out with three walks in the inning. Michigan also walked two in the fourth that came around to score to give Vandy an unrelenting 6-1 lead. In total, Michigan pitchers walked 8 hitters.

Myworld could only watch videos of the dog pile. Perhaps next year we will stay long enough to watch the final.
