Hanshin Downs Mariners; A’s Defeat Giants
Craig Brazell got three hits and Tomoaki Kanemoto had a 2-run homer in the second to lead the Hanshin Tigers to a 5-1 win over the Seattle Mariners in an exhibition game played in Tokyo. Minoru Iwata threw five innings of scoreless ball to get the win. Hector Noesi was not as sharp, giving up the 2-run homer to Kanemoto and going five innings to give up three runs. Ichiro Suzuki got one hit in four at bats in the unfamiliar number three spot for the Mariners.

No boxscore yet for the Atletics/Giants game, but Kurt Suzuki hit a 2-run homer and Tommy Milone pitched five scoreless innings to give the Athletics a 5-0 win over the Yomiuri Giants.
