Cuban Playoff Update - Ciego Evens Series with Las Tunas
Not much of a game here with Ciego taking the series to a seventh game with a 12-2 rout over Las Tunas. The Tigers scored five runs in the top of the ninth so the game was not shortened by the 10-run slaughter rule. The big bat was Yoelvis Fiss with his one homerun and five RBIs. His grand slam in the seventh put the game away. Seven different starters drove in at least one run, but the two starters that didn’t drive in any runs, Rusney Castillo and Ricardo Bordon each scored three runs in the rout. Vladimir Garcia went eight innings to get the victory.
Yoelvis Fiss only hit .217 during the regular season, but myworld did indicate that he could be a player to watch in the playoffs. that has come true with Fiss hitting .364 with two homeruns and six RBIs in the playoffs. He is now in the top five for playoff RBIs, three behind the league leader the Matanzas Crocodiles Arial Sanchez.
