Wildcats Draw First Blood

The Arizona Wildcats won the opener, getting a complete game one run effort from Konnor Wade and a homerun and two RBIs from right fielder Robert Refsnyder to win the opener 5-1.  Refsnyder mashed a 2-run homer in the opening frame to give the Wildcats a quick 2-0 lead.  Many would not know by his name, but Robert is Korean, adopted as an infant by parents to grow up playing baseball in Southern California.  The KBO could always draft Refsnyder to address their shortage of talent of ballplayers in Korea.  Refsnyder also did it with his glove, throwing out a runner at third to spoil a possible Gamecocks rally.

Refsnyder was drafted in the fifth round by the New York Yankees and is listed as a second baseman.
